వేమన శతకం — Vemana Satakam
వేమన శతకం is the collection of poems attributed to యోగి వేమన (Yogi Vemana), one of the most beloved poets of the Telugu people. Tradition places him in the 17th century (some scholars earlier), a wandering yogi who wrote in the language of the street, not the court.
Vemana's verses end with the signature line "విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమ" — hence the collection is called a satakam of వేమన పద్యాలు. His themes are strikingly modern: hypocrisy of the learned, caste and human worth, self-control, the futility of ritual without virtue. Every poem is a small mirror held up to society.
This site presents 1364 Vemana poems with full text, transliteration, word meanings, భావం and audio recitation.
