Oh Sumati (one with a good mind)! By the grace of Sri Rama, I will narrate fluent moral principles in such a way that all people will firmly appreciate them with wonder ('Aura!'). I will speak them so delightfully that they feel as 'tasty' and enticing as a feast that makes one's mouth water.

అక్కరకు రాని చుట్టము,

One should immediately abandon a relative who is of no help in times of need, a deity who grants no boons despite prayers, and a horse that refuses to run in the battlefield. The verse teaches that one must be pragmatic and discard relationships or tools that fail to serve their purpose during critical moments.

పుత్రోత్సాహము తండ్రికి

O Wise One! A father does not experience the true joy of having a son merely at the moment of birth. He feels that genuine delight only when society recognizes his son's good character and praises him.

సామెతలు — అందె వేయించు

అంగటివీథిలో అబ్బా అంటే, యెవరికి పుట్టినావురా కొడకా అన్నట్టు.

When addressed [by his son] in the bazar as “Father,” he replied, “Son! unto whom wert thou born?” (See Nos. 412, 1610.) Want of natural affection. Selﬁsh indifference.

అంగట్లో అన్నీ వున్నవి, అల్లుని నోట్లో శని వున్నది.

There is every thing in the bazar, but Saturn is in the mouth of the son-in-law. Some unfortunate circumstance prevented a son-in-law from availing himself of the good fare of his father-in-law. Evil fate.

అంగట్లో బెల్లము గుళ్లో లింగానికి నైవేద్యము.

Offering the molasses in the bazar to the idol in the temple. (See Nos. 910, 1306, 1580.) Naivédyam is the ordinary oblation. Willing to be liberal at the expense of others.
