ఉడుము వంద సంవత్సరాలు, పాము వెయ్యి సంవత్సరాలు, కొంగ మడుగులో చిరకాలం జీవిస్తాయి. కానీ వాటి బ్రతుకు నిరర్థకం. మానవుడు కేవలం ఎక్కువ కాలం బ్రతకడం ముఖ్యం కాదు; ధర్మము, అర్థము, కామము, మోక్షము అనే నాలుగు పురుషార్థాలను సాధించడానికి ప్రయత్నించాలి. అప్పుడే ఆ జన్మకు సార్థకత లభిస్తుంది.
