ఉదకము ద్రావెడు హయమును,
మదమున నుప్పొంగుచుండు మత్తేభంబున్,

ఓ సుమతీ! నీరు త్రాగుతున్న గుర్రము, మదముతో ఉన్న ఏనుగు, ఆవు దగ్గర ఉన్న ఎద్దు ప్రమాదకరమైనవి కాబట్టి వాటి దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళకూడదు. అలాగే, చదువు లేని నీచుని సహవాసం కూడా ప్రమాదకరమే కాబట్టి అతని దరి చేరకూడదు.

Oh Sumati! One should not approach a horse drinking water, an elephant in rut, or a bull standing near a cow, as they can be unpredictable and dangerous. Similarly, one should avoid the company of a low-minded person who lacks education and wisdom.
