బండి ఇరుసునకు కందెన పెట్టకపోతే, అది సాక్షాత్తు పరమేశ్వరుని బండి అయినా ముందుకు సాగదు. అలాగే, గ్రామ అధికారులైన కరణాలను అనుసరించకుండా, వారితో విరోధం పెట్టుకుని బ్రతికేవారికి, వారు తినే తిండి కూడా వంటబట్టదు (సుఖశాంతులు ఉండవు).

Just as a cart cannot move without grease on its axle—even if it belongs to God Himself—one cannot live peacefully if they antagonize the village officials (Karanams). Living in discord with those in power causes such stress that even one's food will not digest properly.
