వఱదైన చేను దున్నకు,
కఱవైనను బంధుజనుల కడ కేగకుమీ,
పరులకు మర్మము చెప్పకు,
పిరికికి దళవాయి తనము పెట్టకు సుమతీ!

vaṟadaina cēnu dunnaku, kaṟavainanu bandhujanula kaḍa kēgakumī, parulaku marmamu ceppaku, pirikiki daḷavāyi tanamu peṭṭaku sumatī!

వరదలో ఉన్న పొలాన్ని దున్నడం వృధా శ్రమ. కష్టకాలంలో బంధువుల ఇంటికి వెళ్ళడం ఆత్మగౌరవానికి భంగం కలిగించవచ్చు. ఇతరులకు మన రహస్యాలు చెప్పడం ప్రమాదకరం. పిరికివానికి నాయకత్వ బాధ్యతలు ఇవ్వడం వినాశనానికి దారితీస్తుంది. ఈ నాలుగు పనులు చేయకూడదని కవి హెచ్చరిస్తున్నాడు.
