ప్రజలు మూఢనమ్మకాలతో బల్లి పలికితే తమ పనులు విజయవంతం అవుతాయని సంతోషిస్తారు. కానీ ఆ పనులు చెడిపోతే మాత్రం శకునాన్ని నిందించకుండా, తమ ఖర్మ బాలేదని వాపోతారు. మనుషుల అజ్ఞానాన్ని, ద్వంద్వ వైఖరిని వేమన ఈ పద్యంలో ఎత్తిచూపారు.
