ఈ పద్యం మానవుని అజ్ఞానాన్ని, మమకారాన్ని ఎత్తిచూపుతుంది. శాశ్వతమైనది ఏదీ లేదని తెలియక 'ఈ భూమి నాది' అని విర్రవీగే వాడిని చూసి భూమి నవ్వుతుంది. సంపదను పరులకు పెట్టకుండా దాచుకునే లోభిని చూసి, ఆ ధనం ఎవరికీ దక్కదని ధనం నవ్వుతుంది. చావు తప్పదని తెలియక యుద్ధంలో భయపడే పిరికివాడిని చూసి యముడు నవ్వుతాడు.
