ఆశ లుడుగఁగాని పాశముక్తుఁడు గాఁడు
ముక్తుఁ డైనఁగాని మునియుఁగాఁడు
మునియు నయినఁగాని మోహంబు లుడుగవు
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినర వేమ!

మనిషికి కోరికలు నశిస్తేనే సంసార బంధాల నుండి విముక్తి లభిస్తుంది. ఆ బంధ విముక్తి కలిగితేనే అతడు నిజమైన ముని అవుతాడు. మునిత్వం సిద్ధిస్తేనే మనసులోని అజ్ఞానపు మోహాలు పూర్తిగా తొలగిపోతాయి. కాబట్టి మోక్షానికి మూలం ఆశను జయించడమే.

The verse establishes a spiritual hierarchy: without the cessation of desires, there is no freedom from worldly bonds. Without freedom from bonds, one cannot become a true sage.
