ప్రజలందరూ ఆశలనే త్రాళ్ళతో బంధింపబడి, సంసార మోహంలో చిక్కుకొని మోక్షాన్ని పొందలేకపోతున్నారు. అజ్ఞానమనే ఈ బంధాలను జ్ఞానమనే ఖడ్గంతో నరికివేస్తేనే ముక్తి లభిస్తుందని వేమన బోధిస్తున్నాడు.

All human beings are entangled in the ropes of worldly desires, becoming prisoners who cannot find the path to liberation. Vemana questions why people do not use the sharp sword of wisdom (Jnana) to sever these attachments and attain freedom.
