వేదశాస్త్రములను వెలయ నేమి
పడఁతిఁ గనినవాఁడు బాపఁడు గాఁడయా
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినర వేమ!

కేవలం సంధ్యావందనాలు, జపాలు చేసినంత మాత్రాన గానీ, వేదశాస్త్రాలు చదివినంత మాత్రాన గానీ ఎవరూ గొప్పవారు కాలేరు. స్త్రీ వ్యామోహంలో పడి, కామంతో ప్రవర్తించేవాడు ఎన్ని పూజలు చేసినా నిజమైన బ్రాహ్మణుడు (జ్ఞాని) అనిపించుకోడు. చిత్తశుద్ధి లేని ఆచారాలు వ్యర్థమని భావం.

A person who is still trapped in lust and looks at women with desire cannot be considered a true Brahmin (knower of Truth), regardless of their external observances.
