చచ్చిపుట్టుచుండు సహజమనుచు
నెఱుక మఱచుచోట నెఱుఁగునా బ్రహ్మంబు

భావం · Meaning
ఎంతో కాలంగా ఈ సంసారంలో ఉంటూ, ఆత్మజ్ఞానం లేని జీవి చావు పుట్టుకల చక్రం కేవలం సహజమని భ్రమపడుతుంటాడు. ఎప్పుడైతే మనిషి తన నిజస్వరూపమైన 'ఎఱుక'ను (జ్ఞానాన్ని) మరచిపోతాడో, ఆ అజ్ఞాన స్థితిలో పరబ్రహ్మమును తెలుసుకోవడం అసాధ్యమని వేమన బోధిస్తున్నాడు.

The ignorant soul, having existed for ages, undergoes the cycle of birth and death believing it to be merely natural, without seeking the higher truth. Vemana questions how one can possibly realize the Ultimate Reality (Brahman) while living in a state of forgetfulness where spiritual awareness (Eruka) is lost.
