ఇరుగుపొరుగువారి కెనయుసంపదఁ జూచి
తనకులే దటన్న ధర్మమేమి
ధర్మమన్నఁ దొల్లి తన్నుక చచ్చిరి
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినర వేమ!

ఇరుగుపొరుగు వారి సంపదను చూసి అసూయపడి, "నాకు లేదే" అని విచారించడం ధర్మం కాదు. పూర్వం ధర్మం, హక్కుల పేరుతో దాయాదులు (కౌరవ పాండవులు) పోట్లాడుకుని నాశనమయ్యారు. కాబట్టి పరుల సంపదను చూసి అసూయపడకూడదు, ఉన్నదానితో తృప్తి చెందాలి.
