ముక్తికి మార్గము తెలియని ఉపవాసముల వలన ప్రయోజనము లేదు. జ్ఞానము లేని తపస్సునందు చిక్కుకొనరాదు. జపతపాదులు చేయుచున్నామన్న అహంకారముతో గురువు ఆజ్ఞను జవదాటరాదు. బాహ్య ఆచారాలకంటే అంతశ్శుద్ధి, గురుభక్తి ప్రధానమని భావము.
