మనుషులు ఉపవాసాలు, నదీ స్నానాలు చేస్తూ భక్తిని ప్రదర్శిస్తారు. దేవుడి కోసం అని చెప్పి పిండివంటలు వండి, దేవుడిని తినమని నైవేద్యం పెడతారు. కానీ రాయి దేవుడు తినలేడని తెలిసి, ఆ దేవుడి నోరు కట్టినట్లుగా ఆ ప్రసాదాన్ని చివరికి వారే తింటారు. ఈ పద్యం ద్వారా వేమన విగ్రహారాధనలోని డొల్లతనాన్ని, మనుషుల ఆత్మవంచనను ఎత్తిచూపుతున్నారు.
