ఉపవసములనున్న నూరపందిగఁబుట్టుఁ
దపసియై దరిద్రతను వహించు
శిలకు మ్రొక్కనగునె జీవమడుగు పొమ్ము
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినర వేమ!

Upavasamulanunna nūrapandigaṁbuṭṭuṁ Tapasiyai daridratanu vahin̄cu Śilaku mrokkanagune jīvamaḍugu pommu Viśvadābhirāma vinara vēma!

భావం · Meaning
బాహ్యమైన ఆచారాలైన ఉపవాసములు, తపస్సుల వలన ప్రయోజనము లేదు. జ్ఞానము లేకుండా ఉపవాసము చేస్తే మరుజన్మలో తిండిపోతు జంతువైన పందిగా పుడతారు, అలాగే కేవల వేషధారణతో సన్యాసిగా మారితే దరిద్రము అనుభవించాల్సిందే. ప్రాణము లేని రాళ్లకు మొక్కడం కంటే, మనలో ఉన్న జీవమును (దైవమును) తెలుసుకోవడం మిన్న అని భావము.
