Meaning

In English

The mind is the root cause of all worldly experiences and attachments. However, upon deep inquiry, one realizes that the individual self is identical to the Supreme Soul (Atman). Regardless of where one lives or how long one exists, realizing and holding onto this truth is the ultimate wisdom.

Modern relevance

In the modern world, we often blame external circumstances or locations for our stress and unhappiness. This verse reminds us that our reality is shaped by our mind and perception. By turning inward and realizing our true, unchanging nature, we can find peace and stability regardless of our external environment.
