In English
Just as a traveler who has crossed a river and reached the shore leaves behind the boat without looking back, a Yogi who has attained enlightenment and crossed the ocean of worldly existence ceases to obsess over the physical body. The verse illustrates that the body is merely a vehicle for realization, and once the goal is achieved, attachment to it is unnecessary.
Modern relevance
This verse teaches the principle of non-attachment and understanding the utility of things without becoming enslaved by them. In modern life, it reminds us to view our possessions, status, and even our physical appearance as tools to achieve higher goals rather than ends in themselves. Once a phase of life or a goal is completed, we should be able to move forward without being weighed down by the past or the instruments we used to get there.
