సుజ్ఞానము బ్రహ్మమౌట శ్రుతులను వినరా
యజ్ఞాన ముడిగి వాల్మీకి
సుజ్ఞానపు బ్రహ్మమొందెఁ జూడర వేమా!

పుట్టుకతో ఎవరూ శూద్రులు లేదా బ్రాహ్మణులు కారు. అజ్ఞానంతో ఉన్నవాడే శూద్రుడు, బ్రహ్మజ్ఞానం కలిగినవాడే బ్రాహ్మణుడు. బోయవాడిగా పుట్టిన వాల్మీకి తన అజ్ఞానాన్ని వదిలి, జ్ఞానాన్ని సంపాదించి బ్రహ్మర్షిగా మారిన విషయాన్ని గమనిస్తే ఈ సత్యం బోధపడుతుంది.
