మదముచేతఁ దత్వమహిమఁ గనఁడు
భోగవాంఛచేతఁ బుణ్యంబుఁ గానఁడు
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినర వేమ!

భావం · Meaning
శరీర బలం ఉందన్న గర్వంతో మనిషి మరణాన్ని మర్చిపోతాడు. అహంకారంతో అసలైన సత్యాన్ని (తత్వాన్ని) గ్రహించలేడు. కేవలం భోగభాగ్యాల మీద ఆశతో పుణ్యకార్యాలు చేయడం మానేస్తాడు. ఈ మూడు రకాల అజ్ఞానాలు మనిషి పతనానికి కారణమవుతాయని వేమన హెచ్చరిస్తున్నాడు.

Arrogance of physical strength blinds a person to their inevitable mortality, while ego prevents them from realizing the ultimate truth.
