లోభగుణము కలిగిన వర్తకుడు ఎన్ని నిష్ఠలు, వ్రతాలు చేసినా అవి నమ్మదగినవి కావు, ఎందుకంటే వారి ప్రతి పనిలోనూ దురాశే అంతర్లీనంగా ఉంటుంది. ఇది పులి దాసరి వేషం వేసినంత మాత్రాన సాధువుగా మారనట్లే; ఆ వేషం వెనుక క్రూరత్వం దాగి ఉంటుంది. బాహ్య ఆడంబరాలు అంతరంగ శుద్ధిని భర్తీ చేయలేవు.
