కుక్క ఒంటరిగా కూర్చున్నంత మాత్రాన ఋషి కాజాలదు, కొంగ కదలకుండా ఉన్నంత మాత్రాన ధ్యానం చేస్తున్నట్లు కాదు, గాడిద అరుపు సంగీతం కాదు, అలాగే కాషాయం లేదా ముసుగు వేసుకున్నంత మాత్రాన జ్ఞాని కాలేరు. బాహ్య వేషధారణలు మాని, ఆత్మజ్ఞానాన్ని తెలుసుకోవడమే నిజమైన మోక్షమార్గమని వేమన బోధిస్తున్నాడు.
