If a teacher lacks the dignity, character, and honor essential to their station, the distinction between the teacher and the student disappears. Just as one must distinguish the root from the branch tip, one must be able to distinguish the Guru from the Shishya; however, without the requisite dignity in the Guru, this hierarchy collapses and becomes meaningless.
