Meaning
In English
True liberation is not found in academic learning, royal power, material wealth (cattle), or sensual pleasures. Only those men who can let go of the desire and attachment towards these worldly enticements are the truly liberated souls.
Modern relevance
In the modern world, this verse serves as a powerful reminder against the 'rat race' for degrees, political status, asset accumulation, and lust. It suggests that mental peace and true freedom come not from acquiring these external symbols of success, but from overcoming the compulsive craving for them.
