దుర్మార్గులతో స్నేహం అనర్థదాయకమని వేమన హెచ్చరిస్తున్నాడు. వేశ్యతో స్నేహం చిల్లుల మూటలో ధాన్యం వలె వృధా అవుతుంది, దొంగతో స్నేహం నిందలను తెచ్చిపెడుతుంది, అలాగే తలారితో స్నేహం ప్రాణహానికి దారితీస్తుంది. కాబట్టి స్నేహం చేసేటప్పుడు జాగ్రత్తగా ఉండాలి.
