మనసులోని ఆలోచనల వెనుక ఉన్న మూల చైతన్యాన్ని (పరమాత్మను) గురించి దీక్షగా ఆలోచించి, బాహ్య ప్రపంచాన్ని మరచి, ఇతర వ్యర్థ ఆలోచనలన్నింటినీ విడిచిపెట్టాలి. అప్పుడు ఆ అంతర్గత చైతన్యమే పరమ సత్యమైన ఆత్మ అని బోధపడుతుంది. ధ్యానం ద్వారా మనసును నిర్మలం చేసుకుంటే ఆత్మ సాక్షాత్కారం కలుగుతుందని భావం.

In this state, one realizes that the 'thought within the thought'—the witness consciousness—is the Ultimate Truth (Tattva) and the Self (Atma).
