Meaning
In English
As long as one remains attached to the physical body, delusions and vices will drown them in the cycle of birth and death, much like a dream. However, just as mist vanishes with the sunrise and dreams disappear upon waking, these worldly desires and deceptions will instantly vanish when one attains self-realization (enlightenment).
Modern relevance
In modern life, people often define their worth by their physical appearance and material possessions, leading to stress and confusion. This verse reminds us that these external attachments are temporary illusions, like a dream or fog. True clarity and peace come from 'waking up' to a deeper understanding of oneself beyond material identity.
