పేదరిక మంతదోషము
లేదే యీ జగతిలోన నీశ్వరుఁ డెఱుఁగ
పేదను పొడఁగనువాడు
గాదము విధమునను జూచుఁ గదరా వేమా!

ఈ ప్రపంచంలో పేదరికాన్ని మించిన దోషము మరొకటి లేదు; ఇది సాక్షాత్తు ఈశ్వరుడికి కూడా తెలిసిన సత్యం. సమాజంలో ఎవరైనా పేదవాడిని చూస్తే, వాడిని ఒక గడ్డిపోచలా ఎందుకూ పనికిరాని వాడిగా చులకన చేసి చూస్తారు.

There is no greater flaw or curse in this world than poverty, a fact known even to God. When people see a poor man, they treat him with disdain, looking upon him as if he were a worthless blade of grass or straw.
