కుఱికి పాఱిపోవు పిఱికినరుఁడు
యముఁడు కుపితుఁడైన నడ్డ మెవ్వండయా

యుద్ధరంగంలో శత్రువుల బలాన్ని చూసి పిరికివాడు ప్రాణభయంతో పారిపోవచ్చు. కానీ మృత్యువు (యముడు) ఆగ్రహించి ప్రాణాలు తీయడానికి వస్తే, ఎవరూ అడ్డుపడలేరు, ఎక్కడికి పారిపోయినా చావు తప్పదు.

A coward may flee from the battlefield upon seeing a powerful enemy army to save his life. However, when Yama (the God of Death) decides it is time, no one can stand in his way or escape him; death is inevitable regardless of where one runs.
